HUA HIN BEACH POLO

FUND RAISING for the Princess Mother’s Charities.

The first ever Beach polo event took place in Thailand on the exotic beachfront of the new Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort on 11^th April.

As the day unfolded, a dedicated marching band of Thai children from Hua Hin led the parade of 60 horses through the centre of the quaint little town and directly onto the beachfront of the Intercontinental Hua Hin resort to take part in the opening ceremony.

As the days events started the guests were treated to an outstanding dedicated horse back fashion show including many Thai celebrities, Socialites and Children amongst the guests showing off Burberry, La Martina as well as La Perla beachwear.

Following the horse back fashion show a fund raising 300 metre horse race took place with 10 horses competing for the winning spot. As the polo games got under way the children’s game was a fast and enthusiastic event between young Thai Polo and a Beach polo team.

During the main event Mr. Harald Link’s Thai Polo team took on the distinguished team of Royal Pahang of Malaysia cheered on by Prince Abdullah of Pahang. The game was a very energetic game of two chukkas with Royal Pahang coming out the victors.

As the tranquility of sunset fell, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra played away the early evening whilst guests danced to jazz and enjoyed an absolutely fabulous eventful day finished off with a delightful Barbeque dinner in the stunning gardens of the Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort.
